Ayana Buchanan visits local schools for Teacher’s Appreciation week

Amite, Louisiana — In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, Ayana Buchanan, along with the Ayana for Amite committee, visited each school in Amite to celebrate the dedicated educators in the community. A random drawing was held at each school's front office, and selected teachers received a fruit basket in recognition of their hard work and dedication.

"The joy on these teachers' faces truly warmed my heart," said Buchanan. "As your next mayor, I am committed to fostering a closer relationship with our local schools to ensure that both our students and educators have the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. It's time to move Amite forward in every way possible."
