Amite, Louisiana — Ayana Buchanan, a devoted mother, successful small business owner, and proven leader deeply rooted in the community, officially declared her candidacy for Mayor of Amite on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

With an extensive background in community service, including roles as Vice President and President of the Amite Chamber of Commerce, Buchanan is committed to ushering in positive change for Amite. Her vision encompasses economic development, enhanced recreational and educational opportunities for the youth, and improved community services to foster a more vibrant and inclusive town.

"I stand before you today as a dedicated leader who has worked tirelessly to uplift our community in every capacity. Amite is not just my home; it's where I operate my business, where I'm raising my daughter. Together, we can forge a brighter future for our hometown," Buchanan affirmed.
